The Purpose

In Karamoja, Uganda, fewer than 1% of girls complete high school.

And those who do often find themselves without a viable path to post-secondary education, employment, or independence. Ejoka Education is building a bridge for a viable path.

Why Now

For decades, international partners invested in getting Karamojong children into school. That investment mattered: it built a generation of educated young women ready to lead. But as global aid shrinks and funding cycles shorten, the support that was supposed to carry them from school into a livelihood is disappearing. The girls caught in between cannot wait for the next funding cycle to fix what this one left unfinished.

Ejoka Education is not a replacement for that work. It is the next stage of it: rooted in Karamoja, led by Karamojong people, and built to outlast any single grant.

What we do

Ejoka Education partners with the people of Karamoja to build the mentorship, cooperative enterprise, and community infrastructure that turns a high school diploma into a real, independent life: on Karamojong terms, led by Karamojong people.
